St Pauls Church Yard London maketh oath
that about ½ past four Thursday afternoon last Dept saw a Cart
loaded with Bags of as Dept. believes Potatoes [..] drawn by three Horses on
Ludgate Hill
and passing from thence towards Saint Pauls
that a Man whom Dept believe to be the deced appeared
to be doing something to the Chain of the Middle Horse & whilst
he was so doing the Horses appeared to take Bright and all sat
off together that they were only walking before that the Man
whom Dept. believes to be the deced slipt down at the same time
and the near wheel of the Cart went over the Mans head
that some persons took the deced up placed him on a Shutter
& carried him up Ave Marin Lane in order as Dept believes to
take him to the Hospital

house Yard St Pauls London maketh Oath that
about ½ past four [..] on Thursday last Dept. saw the Cart
as described by the above Witness-that the deced went to the
Middle Horse to do something to the Chain that while he was in
so doing the Horses took Fright & sat off together that the
deced slipt down the near wheel went over his head
that he had a Whip in his hand at the time he fell and
appeared to Dept. to be the driver of the Cart that the
Horses were soon after stopt in consequence of their morning
agst. Depts. Marters House [..]
