The Information of James Palmer< no role > of St. Ann Middlesex Gardiner taken on
Oath this 23rd day of [..] April 1788 Before me John Staples< no role > Esqr. One of His Majestys
Justices of the Peace in and for the said County who being on Oath Saith on Saturday
night last The Persons present who say their names are Elizabeth Durant< no role > and Mary Bateman< no role >
went with him to a house situate in Long Alley Cable Street St. George Middlesex being then about
the hour of nine and went up Stairs with Elizabeth Durant< no role > and some time after Mary Bateman< no role >
came up Stairs who he sent for some Gin and that the Person present who says her name is
Elizabeth Sully< no role > came up and did drink part of the Gin at which Time he was not so much
in liquor but he knew what he did [..] That he had more Gin which they all partook off
thinks he was in the said Room about Two hours Says when he went away he was much Intoxicated
That he well remembers seeing his Watch the same which is now produced on a Table
in the Room he [..] had been in and the said Mary Bateman< no role > taking it in her hand
Says when he went into the said house he had a bundle of Cloaths and about Sixteen or
Seventeen Shillings in Many Vizt. half a Guinea in Gold two half Crown pieces one
or Two Shillings and a few half pence is certain he had not any part of the said Money
when he went from the said house and doth not remember if he took said Bundle
of Cloaths with him or not

Joshua Gray< no role > of Shorter Street St.George Middlesex Carpenter and Constable of
the Liberty of Well Close on his Oath saith about Ten of the Clock Sunday morning
last two [..] to the house of Mr. Bell in Long Alley St. George Middlesex
where was James Palmer< no role > sitting who he heard had been robbed [..] of his Watch
money and CloathesThin the house of Bet Sully says he went there [..] and
saw the person present who says her name is Elizabeth Sully< no role > who he asked if
she knew any thing of the said Robbery That she denyed knowing any thing of the
same says he [..] had asked Bell [..] where was the Girl meaning Elizabeth Durant< no role > Says
a Boy went for herand in a few Minutes the said Elizabeth Durant< no role > came and
in the presence and hearing of the said Elizabeth Sully< no role > What she has sworn
to in her Information of this day when the said Elizabeth sully< no role > did not deny of
the said James Palmer< no role > being there but possitively denyed knowing any thing of the robbery
says he then asked for the little Girl as described by Elizabeth Durant< no role > who came
down stairs when he charged her with the Robbery who totally denyed it saying if
the man was robbed it must be Elizabeth Durant< no role > who robbed him and denyed
knowing any thing of the said RobberySay he then said if they did not let
him know where the watch was he should take them to the Watchouse
says they still persisting in their Semblance he took them to the Watchouse
That soon after Mary Bateman< no role > said she would tell the Truth and told
him [..] it was in the Bed of Elizabeth Sully< no role > in a Room below Stairs
where she said Sully Sleeps Says Bateman went and cut the Bed open and took the
watch produced there from and gave it to him this Informant
