The Information of Wm Penny< no role > taken
this 2d day of July 1696 .

Whoe Sayeth upon his Oath that in May 1699
hee this Informt recd of Phillip Cox< no role > of Bull and
Mouth Street neere Aldergt . tenn pound of Counterfeit
halfe Crownes for which two gave the [..] Cox,
Six pound odd money of good money At which time
the sayd Cox told this Informt that the sayd halfe
Crownes were made in his house and told this
Informant that was a very Convenient place
to wake in, and defined this Examit to come and
worke with him in making more such & sayd
that there was not any during because hee was
in good Creddit & his neighbor did not suspect hime
then this Informt sayd hee did not came to venter
then hee gave this Informt 6d weight of Gold &
false melle to make blank places with to make
false Guineas & shewd him this Informt a false
Guina reddy made And carryed him this Informt not
his Garret & Shewed him flasks sand facing &
other materiall for Coyning. And further sayth that
about Midsumer last, this Informt met the sayd
Cox in the Street who defined him to Walke in &
take a pott which hee did & then the sayd Cox
did shew this Informt a Raw Capper Mild thinking
not Whited & sayd hee would Whiten it himself
And sayth that this day hee did cause the sayd Cox
to been apprhended for a Coyner & then found in his
Custody 2 false milld Shillings now producd And
then went into his house to Search & saw the sayd
Cox Shuffle about a drawer & tooke out something
& drope it behing a kinde of u bed which this
Informant then tooke after & there found a
Counterfeit pistoll which was what the sayd Cox had
dropt there as this Informt beleives because hee did
