Poor of the Parish of Alhallows Staining
in the City of London and the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of
St Andrews Undershaft London

Whereas Complaint hath been made unto Us two of
His Majesties Justices of the Peace for this City and the
Liberties thereof one being of the Quorum by the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Alhallows
Staining London That Martha< no role >
the Wife of Solomon Brown< no role > & their two Children
Eleanor< no role > and William< no role > are
lately come to reside in your said Parish not having obtaind any
Legal Settlement there and are likely to become chargeable
thereto unless timely prevented Which Complaint We judge to
be true and for as much as it appears unto Us by the Oath of
George Edgerly< no role > that about Eighteen Years agoe
the said Solomon Brown< no role > Lived as a yearly hired
Servant for the Space of one year & a half for 30s: a years
with Moses Modena< no role > a Jew & Lodged in the said Parish of
Saint Andrew Undershaft London
And no other Subsequent Settlement appearing unto We the
Said Justices are of opinion and do Adjudge the last Legal
Settlement of the said Martha Brown< no role > & her said
two Children Eleanor & William
to be in the said Parish of St. Andrew Undershaft
LondonAnd that thitherto they ought by Law
to be sent

These are therefore in his Majesties Name to Will and
Require You the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of
the said Parish of Alhallows Staining
London forthwith to Remove and Convey the said
Martha Brown< no role > & her said two Children
from and out of your said Parish unto the said Parish of St.
Andrew Undershaft London
And them deliver unto the Churchwardens and Overseers
of the Poor there or one of them Who is and are hereby required
to Receive and Provide for them according to Law Given
under our hands and Seals this Fourth day of May
one Thousand Seven hundred and Thirty Seven
