the Defendant above namedmakethand Thomas Elt of Bell Lane

severally make Oath
and say and first this Deponent the said Hammond Cousins< no role >
for himself saith that in the Session held for the City
of London
in the Month of October one thousand seven hundred and eighty Six
he this Deponent pleaded not Guilty to the above Indictment and put in
Bail to prosecute his Traverse at the next Session of the Peace holden
for the said City in the Month of December last And this Deponent saith
that at the time the above Indictment was preferred against this
Deponent the said Prosecutrix lodged in the same house with this
Deponent in Dunnings Alley
aforesaid but in or about the Month of December
last the said Elizabeth Baker< no role >
and her Husband removed from their
said Lodgings by Night in a Private manner And this Deponent
further saith that he hath made diligent Enquiry to find out the
Place of abode of the said Prosecutrix in order to serve her with Notice of
Trial but this Deponent hath not been able to learn where the said
Prosecutrix
resides or is to be met with And this Deponent [..]
the said Thomas Elt< no role >
for himself saith that he [..] became
Bail for the said Hammond Cousins in the said Month of October 1786
and this Deponent having received a Letter from the Deputy Clerk of the
Peace for the said City of London
on or about the Eighteenth day of October last informing this Deponent that his Recognizance
would be estreated into the Court of Exchequer
[..] he this Deponent
made diligent Enquiry to find the said Prosecutrix or her place of abode
in order that Notice of Trial might be given for the said Hammond
Cousins but this Deponent hath not been able to meet with the said
Prosecutrix
or to find out her place of abode.
