William Higgs< no role > of Millbank Street St. John the Evangelist
Westminster Lighterman , on his Oath Saith that on Tuesday
the 17th. day of January instant about half after Seven
o'Clock in the Evening he was going tothe shoplook
after his left that lay opposite the Ship Alehouse in
Millbank Row , and in his way just beyond Mr. Besants
of the Coach Ma [..] Door, he saw a Men on the left
side of Ann come very near close to his Elbow
and on a Sudden heard a Noise of something having fallen
in the Water, when looking he missed the Man he had just

just before seen, he called out, and some His [..]
and told him he expected a Man had fallen into the Thames
and desired the Fisherman to try to find him he
said he would as soon as he got his net in, he soon
legants try to drag for him and dragged about
Three times but Could not find him-Deponent when
he came home acquainted Kimmick his Servant with
it, and told him to go and try to find him-Depont
says it was very dark and their being no Railing
at the part next the Thames when he saw the Man
he supposes the Deceased Might have Accodentally
fallen in-says the Man when he was taken
up and laid on the Table smelt very Strong of Liquor
from which he supposes he must have been in a
State of [..] ication
