Complaint having been made to the Commissioners that the several Contractors
for Repairing, Cleansing and Lighting, have neglected to Repair, Cleanse, and
Light according to their Contracts. It is recommended to the respective Committees
to give particular directions to the several Contractors to Repair Cleans and
Light in a better manner, otherwise the Commissioners must be obliged to sue such
Contractors for the penalties contained in their respective Contracts.
The Commissioners being informed That the Names of several Streets and
Places are not yet Wrote up at the corners thereof, and that many of those which
were wrote up are obliterated or defaced; and that Posts are wanted to be fixed
at the Corners of several Streets to prevent accidents to Foot Passengers, It is
recommended to the several Committees to cause the Names of those Streets and place
which are not already Wrote up to be wrote up, and to make good those names
which have been Wrote up and are obliterated or defaced and also to cause
Posts to be fixed against the Kirk Stones at the corners of each Street.
