Examination TextElizabeth McDaniel aged twenty teo years in the Workhouse of and in the Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields on her Oath saith, that She never was married nor bound an Apprentice, nor hath She lived as a yearly hired Servant with any one Person for twelve Months together that She is the legitimate Issue of Patrick and Mary MacDaniel, and that her said Father gained a Settlement in the parish of Saint Martin in the fields within the Liberty of Westminster in the County of Midlesex by living in and renting a House in New Bedford Court, near Drury Lane in the parish aforesaid for the Space of five Years at the Yearly Rent of fourteen pounds, ten Shillings; and quitted the Same about fifteen years ago; that her said Father hath not done any Act to gain a Subsequent Settlement to her Knowledge or Belief And this Deponent further saith that She was delivered of a female Bastard Child in the Workhouse aforesaid, on the 2d. day of January 1785, since Christened Mary, yet living & is likely to live & hath become a Charge to the said Parish & that James Neven a Brick layer & Plaisterer, (since deceased) was the true & only Father thereof And no man else. // Sworn before this the 11th Day August 1786 John Collick // Elizabeth McDaniel her Mark // D.
