Examination TextAnn Barker aged 40 Years in the Workhouse upon her Oath saith that she is the Widow of Frederick Barker who died about 9 Years ago , to whom she was Married at the Parish Charge of Saint Leonard Shoreditch in December about 22 Years ago , that her said Husband lived in & rented Apartments unfurnished to wit the Shop & Parlor of Mr Thomas Taylor in Green Street Leicester Square in the Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields for the space of Nine Months at the Yearly Rent of Sixteen Pounds quitted the same about 16 Years ago , since which was said Husband never rented Ten Pounds by the Year had any Rates nor did any Act to gain a subsequent Settlement , nor hath she this Examine since this Decease And this Examine upon her voluntary Oath further Saith that she was on the 25th Day of April 1790 delivered at Mr Horwood House in Marygold Court , Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the ffields of a ffemale Bastard Child baptised Ann yet living & now chargeable to the said Parish & that Philip Hargrove an Orrise Weaver & now in the Middlesex Militia did beget of her Body the said Bastard Child.
