Examination TextMary Smith aged 19 Years upon her Oath saith that she was never Married nor bound Apprentice that she served Two Years under a Yearly hiring with Mr Thomas Williams at Taylor No 54 Craven Street in the Parish of Saint Martins in the ffields at the Yearly Wages of Seven Pounds diet & lodging quitted the same in July 1791 since which she had not been Yearly hired Servant in any place for Twelve Months together more done any Act to gain a subsequent Settlement. And this Examinant upon her voluntary Oath further saith that she is no great with Child or Children , which is or are likely to be born eight Bastard or Bastards and to become chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields and that Crispin Jessop whose that Shoemaker by Trade hired several Times carnal Knowledge of her Body and at one of which Times did beget her with the Child or Children she now goeth with & is Pregnant of & that he the said Crispin Jessop is the true & only ffather thereof & no Man else.
