| Examination Text | Matilda Allen aged 18 Years removed from Christ Church Surrey upon her Oath saith that she was never Married nor bound Apprentice , that she was a Yearly hired Servant to Mr William Hewson on the, of Southampton Street, Strand in the Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields from December 1791 to August 1793 Aggarwal IDSbeing One Year & Eight Months all under one hiring at the Yearly Wages of Six Pounds diet & lodging since which she had done i to gain a subsequent Settlement. And this Examinant upon her voluntary Oath further saith that she is no great with Child or Children which is or are likely to be Born a Bastard or are Bastard's and to become chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Martin in the The Fields and that John Powell who is now Porter to Mr Hewson hired several Times carnal Knowledge of her Body and that one of which Times wants did beget her with the Child or Children she now goeth with and is pregnant of and that he the said John Powell is the true & only ffather thereof and Man else.
