Examination Text | John Hardy aged 75 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Botolph without Aldgate in the County of Middlesex upon his oath saith that he is a Taylor by trade and lived in and rented an house near Russell Street in Drury Lane in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of seven years at the yearly rent of 14 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same 20 years ago, that he never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant since, that he was married to his present wife Sarah at Doctors Commons about 16 years ago. Sworn the 14th Day of January 1757 before Benjamin Cox. |
