An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at London that is to say,
at the parish of Saint Clement East cheap in the ward of Candlewick in London aforesaid on the fifteenth
day of October in the thirtieth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the grace of God of
Great Britain France and Ireland King defender of the faith and so forth Before Thomas Shelton< no role >
Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark on
view of the Body of John Shillingford< no role > now here lying dead by the Oath of John Cooper< no role > , John Gifford< no role >
Alexander Hawthorne< no role > , Matthew Warren< no role > , John Barrett< no role > , John Wade< no role > , Christopher Shelton< no role > , Charles
Hading, William Poynder, George Bell< no role > , William Green< no role > , John Hollway< no role > , James Rubidge< no role > , James Rice< no role >
William Clark< no role > and Joseph Sard< no role > good and lawful Men of the City of London aforesaid who being now
here duly chosen sworn and charged to Inquire for our said Lord the King when how and in what manner
the said John Shillingford< no role > came to his death say upon their Oath that the said John Shillingford< no role > on the
fourteenth day of October in the Year aforesaid being employed in repairing the Tyling of a certain
Outhouse of and belonging to one John Wade< no role > of Cannon Street in the City of London aforesaid It so happened
that the said John Shillingford< no role > accidentally casually and by misfortune did fall from and Off the said taking
of the said Outhouse into a certain Yard there situate and to and upon the Stone pavement there
By means whereof he the said John Shillingford< no role > did then and there Receive one mortal wound and
Fracture in and upon the Right side of the head of him the said John Shillingford< no role > of which said Mortal
Wound and fracture he the said John Shillingford< no role > did then and there die and so the Jurors aforesaid
upon their Oath aforesaid do say that the said John Shillingford< no role > in manner and by the means aforesaid
casually and by misfortune was accidentally killed In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner
as the said John Cooper< no role > the Foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows
in their presence have to this Inquisition set their hands and Seals the day Year and place first
above written
