Middlesex to Wit


The Information of John Crockett< no role > and James
Savage
< no role > , taken before me this 5th: day of March
1781.

Who being on Oath say and first the said John Crockett< no role > for himself
says that last Evening between 7 and 8 o'Clock as he was walking
in the road near the Belvedire House by Islington , four men met
him, one passed him, and the other three took hold of this Informants
head thrusted it downwards, whereby he fell down, when the
man who first passed him whom he is very sure is a Person
now present who calls himself Samuel Horsey< no role > , put his
hands into this Informants month and attempted to throttle
him but on the said Mr Savage coming up the other three
ran away as did the said Samuel Horsey< no role > , taking this
Informants Hat now produced (which dropped when he fell)
with him. That when he fell, the others attempted to rob
him of his Watch & Money, but could not get at him Pockets.
And further says he is very sure that the said Samuel
Horsey
< no role > is the identical Person, that passed him, attempted
to throttle him, and that robbed him of his Hat as aforesaid
And the said James Savage< no role > for himself says that on
his coming up to the said Mr. Crockett last Evening after
his ill-usage, he observed his Month very bloody and said
"he had been robbed of his Hat" that Mr. Crockett pointed
to a Man who then stood at a little distance in a
