London And to the Rt. Worll. the rest of his Maties. Justices of the Peace
all The Generall Quarter Sessions of the Peace Assembled.

The humble Petition & Appeale of the Churchwardens &
Overseers of the Poore of the parish of St. Mary Magdalens
Old Fishstreete London

Sheweth


That one Ellen Whitton< no role > wth. her 5 Children by Warrant under the Hands & Seales of two of
his Maties. Justices of the Peace within this City (one of the Quox) Dated 18th. June 1697
were brought and left by the Churchwardens of St. Gregoryes wth. yor. Pets to be provided
for on the Oath of one Samuel Walsh< no role > That William Whitton< no role > her late husband served
one Aron Watts< no role > as an Appntice in yor. Petr. said Parish of St. Mary Magdalens
Whereas in truth the said Aron Watts< no role > was a settled Inhitant in the said Parish
of St. Gregoryes before May 1685 & the said William Whitton< no role > lived with him there
as an Appntice above a yeare And that about Xpmas 1685 the said Aron Watts
privately tooke a house in yor. Petr. parish of St. Mary Magdalens under ten
pounds a yeare wth. out giveing any notice thereof According to the Law And the said
William Whitton< no role > did continue with the said Aron Watts his Master thereabout
ten monethes and then went away from him And that afterwardes the said
Aron Watts returned to the said Parish of St Gregoryes where he abode three
yeares dureing ye terme of his Indentures And never was a Settled Inhabitant in St. [..] Mary Magdalens
according to the Law

Yor. Petrs. humble suite unto yor. Honors. & Worpps.: is That
you wilbe pleased to hear them in the Prmisses And to Quash
the said Warrt. made by the said two Justices And send the
said Ellen Whitton< no role > & her Children Barke to the said Parish
of St. Gregoryes where the said Aron Watts< no role > was legally
settled And where the said William Whitton< no role > dwelt with him
for above a yeare together as his Appntice.

And they shall Pray etc.
