< no role > For an Assault

Francis Morton< no role > of Thames Street in the City of
London the above Named Defendant Maketh Oath
that he was Indicted in May Sessions last and the same
Sessions put in Bail in Court but before the last Sessions
Defendant was ordered to go on Board several Tobacco
Ships on Duty by order of the Commissioners of the Custom
House and therefore could Not by any Means give
Notice of Trial in Timeand thereforeand the Recognizance
became forfeited and this Deponent further saith that
since the last Sessions he has heard of one John Hart< no role >
an Officer of the Custom House who is a very Material
Witness for him and who is now on Duty at a very
Great Distance from London and is Not able to be Present at the
Trial this Sessions but this Deponent lastly
saith he shall be able to procure the said John
Hart
< no role > against the Next Sessions in case this Honourable
Court will be pleased to Respite his Recognizance till
the Next Sessions
