Middlesex to wit.


At the Gen: Quarter Session of the Peace of Our Lord
the King holden at the New Session House on Clerkenwell Green in
& for the Said County before William Mainwaring< no role > Esqr . & other his
Companions Justices of Our Said Lord the King assigned to keep the
Peace Etc. And also to hear & Determine Etc. on Monday the 22d.
Day of October in the 38th. Year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord
George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and
Ireland King Defender of the Faith and So forth. And in the Year of
Our Lord 4798.-

I Rice Davies< no role > Esquire One of the Said Justice do hereby
Certify to this Honorable Court that on the twenty Sixth Day of MarchNow
Last past Thomas Chaney< no role > was Only Duly convicted before me in the Penalty of Twenty
Pounds for wearing Hair Powder without heaving Frist duly obtained a Stamped
Certificate of the Payment of the Stamp Duties in that Behalf Pursuant to the Statute
in Such Case made & Provided As by the Said Conviction now affiled of Record
in this Honorable Court may more fully appear.

And I further Certify that Subsequent to Such Conviction the Said
Thomas Chaney< no role > with John Fletcher< no role > and Robert Banks< no role >
two Sureties in that Behalf entered severally into a Recognizance before Daniel William< no role > Esquire himself in
the Penalty of £40.and the Said too Suretires in £30. each
conditioned for Prosecution on Appeal at the then next General Quarter Session of
the Peace for the Said County As by the Second of the Said Recognizance new also
affiled of Record in this Honble: Court may also more fully appear-

And I further Certify that Subsequent to the entering into such
