| Examination Text | John Ewbank aged 56 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that while single and unmarried he was a yearly hired servant in the capacity of Coachman to Lord Sandwich at the Admiralty Office in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for several years at the yearly wages of 10 pounds diet and lodged where the house stood in Scotland Yard, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since he quitted the said Lord's service. Taken in the workhouse of 24th Day of February 1761. |
