Examination TextElizabeth Croker aged 23 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith she never was married, that she was bound an apprentice (by the officers of the Parish of St Margaret Westminster) by an indenture for seven years to Matthew Bent, a Shoemaker in that part of St Martin's Lane which is in the Parish of St [?] Westminster and there served about [blank], and then her said Master removed into Castle Street near Mercer Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields and this Examinant along with him and there served about five years longer, and then and there left her said Master's service, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since she left her Master as aforesaid. Taken in the workhouse of 12 Day of May 1761.
