Examination TextJane Esther Daniel aged 34 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St. Paul Covent Garden upon her oath saith she is the widow of Bartholomew Daniel (who died the 18th May 1759), to whom she was married at St Andrews Church in Holborn in the 30th May 1749, that her said husband was born in Geneva, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that she this Examinant before her intermarriage to her said husband never was bound an apprentice (but as a Day apprentice) kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, nor hath she kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes since her said husband's death, that her Father Andrew Fouquet a was a Perfumer and lived in and rented a house in New Street in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of 5 years at the yearly rent of 20 pounds besides taxes and there died, that she this Examinant hath one child by her said husband to wit Sarah aged six years and upwards now with this Examinant. Sworn the 14th Day of July 1761 before Benjamin Cox.
