Examination TextThe Examination of Mary Blake wife of Peter Blake passed from the Parish of St Clement Danes within the liberty of Westminster to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields in the said liberty taken upon oath this second Day of September 1765. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is about 35 years of age, that while single and unmarried she was on or about the 15th Day of August which was in the year 1758 delivered at the house of Mr Bennet, a Peruke Maker in Charles Court in the Strand in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields of a Male bastard (child since christened Edward) yet living and now with this Examinant, and passed from the parish St Clement Danes to the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields, and that James Logan, a Taylor deceased did beget on her body the said Male bastard child, and that he the said James Logan is the true and only father thereof and no man else. Sworn the day and year abovesaid before Peter Planck. [In the margin:] Maiden name Clarkson.
