Examination TextGeorge Carrol aged 44 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of Richmond in the County of Surry upon his oath saith that he was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Mr Devenish, an Undertaker in Off Alley in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid and there served his said Master three years and upwards, and then his said Master died and he this Examinant was at large, that he this Examinant never was assigned to any other Person, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since he quitted the said Mr Devenish's service, that he was married to his present wife Ann at the Fleet about 15 years ago by whom he hath one child to wit Henry aged about six years now with this Examinant. Sworn the 16th Day of October 1765 before Peter Planck.
