Examination Text | Elizabeth Story aged 23 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St. Paul Covent Garden upon her oath saith that she never was married bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that her father Robert Story lived in and rented a house known by the sign of the Earl of Stairs Head in Vine Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid but how long he kept the same or what rented he paid she cannot tell, that he died in the occupation of the said house. Taken the workhouse of 23rd Day of July 1761. |
