Examination TextJulia Moss aged about 50 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St. James within the liberty of Westminster upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Robert Moss (who died about seven years and nine months ago) to whom she was married at the Fleet 25 years ago, that her said husband was a Taylor by trade and lived in and rented a house between Vinegar Yard and Russell Court in Drury Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of one year and a half at the yearly rent of 16 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about 15 years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes afterwards, nor hath she this Examinant nor been a yearly hired servant since the death of her said husband. Sworn the second Day of August 1759 before Thomas Kynaston.
