Examination TextMary Williams aged 62 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of Christ Church London upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Robert Williams (who died between nine and 10 years ago) to whom she was married at St Martin's Church of this Parish in the year 1715, that he her said husband lived in and rented an house known by the sign of the Horse and Cart in Harts Horn Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of seven years at the yearly rent of 15 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same several years before he died, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes afterwards, nor hath she this Examinant nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since the death of her said husband.
