Examination TextElizabeth Wheatley aged 25 years and upwards in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Giles without Cripplegate London upon her oath saith that she is the wife of Thomas Wheatley (gone from her) to whom she was married at the Fleet between three and four years ago, that he was a Taylor by trade and served the last two years of his apprenticeship to Mr Ward a Taylor in New Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid which expired about five months after his intermarriage with this Examinant, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since, that she hath one child living by her said husband to wit Edward aged two years and upwards now with this Examinant, and that she is now pregnant. Sworn the 27th Day of December 1756 before Benjamin Cox.
