Examination TextAnn Fawdrey aged 52 years now a Nurse in Magdalen's Ward in Bartholomew's Hospital upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Fawdrey (who died about nine years ago) to whom she was married at Acton in the County of Middlesex 31 years ago, it he was a Gold Smith by trade and lived in and rented an house in Hemmings Row in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of two years at the yearly rent of 30 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about 14 years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes afterwards, nor hath she this Examinant [nor] been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since the death of her said husband. Sworn the 13th Day of September 1756 before John Goodchild. [In the margin:] Sent to St Bartholomew's Hospital.
