Wickham
< no role > deced maketh oath That about Twenty one
Years ago She was lawfully married to her Said late
husband at St Johns Church Exeter in the County of
Devon Who as he has informed her & which She believes
to be true was an Irishman by birth & never did any
Act to gain a Settlement in Great Britain That about
Seven Years ago She was married to one Thomas Conner< no role >
Since deced by a Romish Priest in a Dwelling house in
Holloway Lane Shoreditch in the Said County of
Middx Which Marriage as She this Deponent has been
advised & believes was wholy Void in Law That after
the death of her Said husband Wickham & Previous to her
Marriage with the sd Thomas Conner< no role > & whilst she was
a Widow & having no Child then living She was hired &
lived as a hired Servant by the Year at Certain Wages
with William Bradley< no role > of the parish of St Botolph
without Aldgate in the sd County of Middx Victualler
& Continued in Such Service for the Space of a Year and
upwards & by means thereof gained a legal Settlement
there That she this Depont has not Since lived as a hired
Servant for a year no done any Act to gain a Subsequent
Settlement other than What She might have Acquired
by her Marriage with the sd Wickham That She this
Depont. hath a Child now living aged about Seventeen
Months which was born in a place Called the Dark Entry
in the Said Parish of St Botolph without Aldgate The
Which Child is a Bastard & hath been Since baptized &
registred by the name of Sarah Wickham< no role > & that one
Thomas Bercraft< no role > late of the Same Parish Shoemaker
deced was the Father of the Said Child.
