To the Church Wardens & Overseers of the Poor of
the Parish of St. James Westminster And To
the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish of St. Margaretts Westmr : in the
County of Middx : and to Each of them

Whereas Complaint hath been made unto us whose
names are Subscribed Two of his Majesties Justices of the Peace
for the Citty and Libty of Westminster (Quorum unus) [..]
the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish
of St. James in the Citty and Libty aforesaid That Ann
Stapleton
< no role > alias Smith< no role > Singlewoman came Lately to dwell
in the said Parish of St. James not having Gained a Legall
Settlement there According to the Laws in that Case made
and provided, nor produced a Certificate to them owning
her to be Littled Elsewhere and that She the said Ann Staple
ton
< no role > als Smith< no role > is become Chargeable to the said Parish of St
James Wee upon Examination thereof and of the said Ann
Stapleton
< no role > als Smith< no role > taken upon Oath do adjudge the same to be true, And that
the Last Place of her Lawfull Settlement was in the Parish
of St. Margaretts in the Citty and Libty aforesaid Wee doe there
fore require you the Church Wardens and Overseers of the P [..]
of the Parish of St. James to Convey the said Ann Stapleton< no role >
als Smith< no role > from your said Parish to the Parish of St. Margarett
Westmr. : aforesaid, And Wee doe alsoe hereby require the Church
Wardens or Overseers of the Parish of St. Margaretts Westmr :
to Receive and Provide for her as an Inhabitant of their
Parish, Given under our hands and Seales this Twenty
Sixth day of Aprill: 1716
