for an Assault

James Patterson< no role > of Whitehorse Yard in the parish of
Saint Johns of Wapping in the County of Middlesex Shoemaker
and Thomas Wallis< no role > of the same place Rope Maker both make
Oath and saythatand first the said James Patterson< no role > for
himself says on Wednesday the Eighth day of July Instans
he in Company with the said Thomas Wallis< no role > met the above
abovenamed Prosecutor in the street and Offered to serve him
with a Copy of the Notice hereunto Annexedbut(and at
the same time In formed him [..] that it was a Notice of
Trial from the above named Defendants who had Surendered
themselves to prison and Would take their Trial on Saturday
the Eleventh day of July Instant ) But herefused to take
the same that this Deponent and the said Thomas Wallis< no role >
Then went to the House oftheProsecutor Situate in Virginia
Street and See him in the House but in order to present
this Deponent serving same he went out at his back door
that this Deponent then Served the said Notice upon
a Woman in the said House who he believes to be the Wife
of the said Prosecutor And the said Thomas Wallis< no role >
for himself Saith that he was present and did see the
other Deponent Serve the said Notice [..] in manner above
Set forth.
