Examination TextThomas Gorn aged 52 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the parish St Clement Danes upon his oath saith that he was born in Feathers Alley (now Mays Buildings) in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid as he this Examinant hath been informed and verily believes, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months, that his father Thomas Gorn was born on the Isle of Man as this Examinant hath been informed, that his Father never did any act to gain a settlement elsewhere to this Examinant's knowledge, that he this Examinant was married to his present wife Eleanor at the Parish Church of St Giles in the Fields between three and four years ago. Sworn the 21st Day of September 1765 before Peter Planck.
