| Examination Text | Joshua Ray aged about 50 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Clement Danes upon his oath saith is a Staymaker by trade and lived in and rented a house in Castle Court in the Strand in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of one year and a half at the yearly rent of 30 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about five years ago, that he hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the 25th day of September 1765 before Peter Planck. |
