Examination TextWilliam Lack aged 49 Years removed from Saint Bride upon his Oath that he was bound Apprentice by the Governors of the Grey Coat School by Indentures bearing Date the 2d Day of October 1759 to Thomas Gaywood a Bit & Spur maker in Hedge Lane in the Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields & there served the said Master under the said Indenture for the space of Two Years , when his Master died and see this Examinant immediately went Sea & hath done i act to gain a subsequent Settlement , that he was Married to his present Wife Comfort at the Parish Church of St John the Evangelist Westmr September 27th 1767 by whom he hath Two Children to wit Benedicta Ann Born May 20th/69 who was never Married bound Apprentice been a yearly hired Servant in any place for Twelve Months not done any Act to gain a Settlement in her own right & Martha Born May the 12th/81 now removed. Sworn this 20th Day of March 1793 before me John Collick William Lack
