Examination Text | Jane Carey aged 16 years destitute of lodging upon her oath saith that she never was married bound an apprentice kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that her Father John Carey was a Serjeant in the Guards and lived in and rented an house in White Hart Yard in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of 19 years but what rent he paid the same she cannot tell, that he died in the occupation of the said house. Sworn the seventh Day of February 1757 before Benjamin Cox. |
