of Joseph Stevens< no role > :For Felony.

Joseph Stevens< no role > of Baker Street North New Road St. Mary
above in the County of Middlesex Baker and Benjamin Brook< no role >
of Baker Street aforesaid in the County afdoresaid Gardner Severally
Make Oath and say and first this Deponent Joseph Stevens< no role > for
himself saith that in the Month of June last he Caused the:
abovenamed John Cresswell< no role > to be apprehended for Stealing of a
Goose his Property of the Value Tenpence whereupon he was
Committed. And this Deponent Positively saith that he Entered into
recoganzaince to appear and prosecute the Said John Cresswell< no role > at
July Session last but having been Summoned to Attend at the
Mansion House before the Lord Mayor for the Purpose of taking
the affidavit required on the late Act of Parliament and be
being bound over to attend on the 2..nd day of July and this
Summons having expressed to attend on the Same day and
Beliving that no other time would do as the Recognizance
Expressed to attend on the Second July and having been under
the Necessity of Stopping there Untill he thought it was to late
to Prefer the Said Indictment and he this Deponent being Ignorant
as to the Cousequinces never being found over before to Prosecute
And this Deponent Positively Saith that he did not Neglect Corneing
forward for the Purpose of Avoiding Prefering his Bill of Indictment
agreeable to his Recognizance or did he receive any Sum or Sums
of Money nor is he this Deponent in any Expectation nor has he had
any Promise or Promises made by or from any Person or Persons
