Examination TextAnn Hearne aged 48 years destitute of lodging upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Hearne (who died 15 years ago) to whom she was married at the Fleet the 29th July 1739, that her said husband was an Attorney at Law, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that her husband's father Thomas Hearne was an Upholsterer by trade and lived in and rented a house the corner of Heath Cock Court in the Strand in the Parish aforesaid for several years at the yearly rent of 30 pounds besides taxes, that he the said Thomas Hearne never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes after he quitted the aforesaid house, nor hath she this Examinant on been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since the death of her said husband. Sworn the eighth day of May 1766 before Thomas Balack.
