Examination TextElizabeth Brown aged 39 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Brown, that since the death of her said husband (she this Examinant having no children living) she this Examinant was a yearly hired servant to Mr Margerum, a Victualler at the sign of the Mitre near New Round Court in the Strand in the Parish aforesaid for the space of two years at the yearly wages of 5 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same [blank] years ago, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Taken in the workhouse the 10th day of October 1765.
