Examination TextThe Examination of Mary Ann Macannalle taken upon oath this 30th Day of November in the year of our Lord 1767. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is 21 years of age and upwards, that she never was married, that she was on the seventh Day of September in the year 1766 delivered at the house of Mr Wild a Peruke Maker in Legg Alley in Long Acre in the Parish of St Martin the Fields aforesaid of a female bastard child (since christened Sarah) yet living and now passed from the Parish of St. James within the liberty of Westminster to the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields, and is become chargeable to the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields, and that Thomas Singleton at Clicker to his Uncle Mr Blackburne a Shoemaker in Tyler Street by Carnaby Market did beget on her body (of this Examinant) the said female bastard Child, and that he the said Thomas Singleton is the true and only father thereof and no man else. Sworn the day and year abovesaid before Peter Planck, Thomas Kynaston.
