Examination Text | John Rogers aged about 50 years lodging with Mr Smith a Chairman opposite an Inn Yard in Bedfordbury in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he never was bound an apprentice, that while single and unmarried he this Examinant was a yearly hired servant in the capacity of a Footman to Mr Marshall a Staymaker in Red Lyon Court now Dicks Court near Drury Lane in the Parish aforesaid for the space of one year and 11 months at the yearly wages of 8 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about 26 years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the 19th Day of November 1767 before Thomas Kynaston. |
