Examination TextMathias Keys aged 16 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that his mother Martha Keys (who died in Middlesex Hospital about four months ago) hath informed this Examinant that he was born in Charles Court in the Strand in the Parish aforesaid, that he never was bound an apprentice nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that his Father Mathias Keys died when this Examinant was young, that he never knowed him, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together to this Examinant's knowledge, that he this Examinant cannot tell where his father or mother were born. Sworn the seventh Day of November 1767 before Peter Planck.
