Examination TextSarah Duchen aged 55 years lodging at Mrs Bird's in Salisbury Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Francis Duchen (who died about 11 years ago) to whom she was married at the Fleet 20 years ago, that he was a Cabinet Maker by trade, that he was a yearly hired servant to Mr Buckley a Cabinet Maker the corner of Langley Street in Long Acre in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of one whole year but what wages he had she cannot tell, but had diet and lodging, quitted the same about 20 years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes afterwards, nor hath she this Examinant nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since the death of her said husband. Sworn the 11th Day of March 1757 before Benjamin Cox.
