Examination TextJames Battle aged 35 years lodging at Mrs Jones in Bayleys Alley in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he never was married bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that his father James Battle lived in and rented an house in Heath Cock Court in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of four years at the yearly rent of 10 pounds besides taxes and there died about 16 years ago. Sworn the 13th Day of January 1757 before Benjamin Cox.
